Our Process
When you first contact us, we will ask you for details on your legal matter to determine whether or not we can assist you. If we can help, we will schedule a consultation. If we can’t help, we will try to recommend someone who can.
Every new client at Freakley Law Group starts with a consultation. This is a chance to meet with Melissa directly and discuss your legal needs. We will often ask you to fill out a questionnaire before the consultation to help us better understand your unique situation.
After the consultation, you will sign an engagement agreement. Some matters, like estate planning, will be billed as a one time flat fee. Other matters, like estate administration, will be billed hourly over the course of many months.
During the course of our representation, we will communicate with you often about the status of your legal matter. We will routinely check in for documentation and decisions. We offer a secure client portal for the exchange of documents. You can also email us, call us or visit us in person.
At the conclusion of your legal matter, funds remaining in your trust account will be returned to you as well as any original documents in our possession. You will receive a closing letter memorializing the end of our representation and we will keep a scanned copy of your file for a period of time.
